Grimme is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery for potato, beet and vegetable cultivation. The machines of large size, self-propelled type place high demands on accessibility, health and safety, and ergonomics during assembly and repair work. Due to their design, the front section of the machines is particularly difficult to access – yet work at height must be carried out there on a regular basis.
Challenge: Ensuring safe access to the front and sides of large agricultural machinery of different sizes
- Large vehicle front end, several metres in length
- Work on the cab front, windscreen, light strips and headlights
- Large spans and variable working heights
- Restricted access with conventional access technology
The aim was to develop a working platform for agricultural machinery that enables safe, ergonomic and efficient working at height – without restricting freedom of movement around the machine.
